According to the California Highway Patrol, a two-vehicle accident in San Miguel claimed the life of a 24-year-old Paso Robles man on Monday afternoon, April 4, 2022.

[04-04-2022] San Luis Obispo County CA - Two-Vehicle Crash in San Miguel Leaves One Paso Robles Man DeadAccording to CHP Officer Jose Meza, two men were driving a Mazda 3 northbound on Indian Valley Road at an unknown speed around 3:35 p.m., around the same time a Chevrolet Silverado was driving southbound on Vineyard Canyon Road.

The driver of the Mazda made a direct left turn into the path of the Chevy as the Mazda approached the intersection, and the two cars collided head-on, according to Meza.

According to Meza, the Mazda’s passenger, a 24-year-old Paso Robles man, was not wearing a seatbelt and died as a result of the accident. His identity was unknown, and notification of kin was pending.

The Mazda driver was taken to a local hospital in San Luis Obispo with moderate injuries, according to Meza.

The Chevy driver sustained minor injuries and was treated and released on the scene.
According to Meza, the crash did not appear to be caused by drugs or alcohol, and the Templeton CHP Office is investigating.
