What To Do Following an Accident

You must find a safe place to pull over immediately following an accident. The law has severe consequences for hit-and-run drivers. Accidents that result in death or serious injury should always be reported to the appropriate authorities as soon as possible, even if police are not immediately available. Any passenger in the vehicle must notify the authorities of the driver’s incapacity.

If there are no injuries, you can pull over to the side of the road. The police may impound vehicles abandoned on the roadside.
