A gray Mazda CX-9 was heading north when a 30-year-old motorist drove the vehicle through the dirt median, causing it to overturn multiple times before landing upside down.

The child was declared dead at the scene, while four other females suffered major injuries and were taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.
