Fatal Motorcycle Crash Statistics

In 2019 alone, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported 5,014 motorcycle-related fatalities in the US. Compared to other vehicles on the road, especially tractor-trailers, motorcyclists have a relatively low level of protection.

When it comes to motor vehicle accidents, motorcycle riders are 29 times more likely to die and four times more likely to be injured.

Motorcyclists face an additional danger when they don’t wear helmets. At 71%, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that motorcycle riders wore DOT helmets in 2019.

Basic maintenance is required if you plan to ride your motorcycle for long periods. This is done mostly to extend the life of the motorcycle and prevent you from being stranded in the middle of nowhere.

But it’s not only about reducing frustration; it can also save you from an accident when you’re out on the road.

On a major highway or motorway, you should always ride in the far left or far right lane. Never, ever drive in the middle lanes unless you absolutely must. Motorcycle accidents can be avoided if you follow these simple guidelines.
