[04-09-2022] Two People Injured in DUI Crash Near CalistogaTwo people were reportedly injured following a DUI crash in Napa County on Saturday, April 9.

According to Napa CHP Officer Jaret Paulson, the collision occurred at 9:45 p.m. near Calistoga on state Highway 29 north of Diamond Mountain Road.

Marc F., 56, of Napa, was riding a 2018 Harley Davidson north of Diamond Mountain Road in the southbound lane of SR-29, and a 69-year-old Calistoga man was driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck in the northbound lane.

Ferneau then crossed the double parallel solid yellow lines and entered the northbound lane, according to Paulson.

According to Paulson, the Ford driver was unable to take any evasive maneuvers, and the Harley collided with the front left of the Ford.

Neither the Ford driver nor his passenger, a 66-year-old Calistoga woman, were hurt in the crash.

Ferneau and his passenger, a 57-year-old woman from St. Helena, were thrown from the motorcycle and sustained serious injuries.

Ferneau was rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital because he was not wearing a helmet.

His helmet-wearing passenger was airlifted to Queen of the Valley Hospital.

Officers from the California Highway Patrol believe alcohol played a role in the crash and arrested Ferneau on suspicion of felony DUI.
