[04-10-2022] Napa County, CA – Two People Injured in DUI Rollover Crash on State Highway 221

The crash occurred at 11:43 a.m. south of Napa on northbound state Highway 221 south of Anderson Road.

Cristino M., 28, of Fairfield, was driving a 2001 Jeep Cherokee SUV northbound on SR-221 and unsafely turned onto the east shoulder, where the SUV overturned.

He and his passenger, 35-year-old Santiago M. of Fairfield, fled the crash scene and were apprehended by law enforcement officers, Paulson said.

Both Cristino and Santiago complained of minor injuries from the crash and were taken to Queen of the Valley Medical Center for evaluation.

Cristino was then taken to the Napa County jail, where he was booked on suspicion of felony DUI causing injury to another, hit-and-run collision, and driving on a suspended license.

Santiago was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication.

California Highway Patrol is further investigating the collision.
