One person died, and another was injured when a fiery collision happened in Laytonville on Monday afternoon, April 11, 2022.

The early reports showed that a pickup truck and a big rig hauling soil were involved in the wreck.

The collision caused one of the vehicles to catch fire.

According to authorities, one person died, while another suffered moderate to major injuries.

Due to the weather, an air ambulance was unable to arrive at the scene. While crews worked on the scene, the area was closed off.

There are no other details available.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
