The collision occurred at approximately 4:10 p.m. on Summit Valley Road near Las Flores Road in Hesperia.

A black pickup truck and a silver Ford Mustang collided on the roadway for unclear reasons. The circumstances leading up to the crash have not been established.

Emergency personnel later arrived at the scene and extricated several people from the wreckage. At least three people were seriously injured in the mishap and had to be airlifted to trauma centers.

Meanwhile, at least one person was taken to an area hospital via ground ambulance. The identities of the involved parties have not been disclosed.

Local authorities are further investigating the cause of the accident.
