[04-14-2024] Alameda County, CA – Bicyclist Severely Injured Following Bicycle Vs. Vehicle Crash in Berkeley

A bicyclist was severely injured following a bicycle vs. vehicle crash in Berkeley on Sunday morning, April 14, 2024.

According to the Berkeley Police Department, the serious crash happened just before 10:50 a.m. on San Pablo Avenue, south of Dwight Way.

Reports indicate that a vehicle going southbound on San Pablo struck a bicyclist and pinned him against a parked car, resulting in major injuries.

Police described the victim’s injury as a severed leg after it got caught under the vehicle. Responders immediately sprung into action upon arrival and treated the victim’s leg along with a bystander with medical training.

The driver of the vehicle reportedly remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. He was later identified as 19-year-old Torin W. and was arrested for a separate case related to vehicle theft after a few days.
