[04-16-2023] San Bernardino County, CA – Two People Hospitalized After Car vs. Semi Truck Collision in Apple Valley

Two people were injured after a semi-truck and vehicle collision in Apple Valley, San Bernardino County, on Sunday morning, April 16, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol and the Apple Valley Fire Department, the collision happened at about 8:14 a.m. on the Interstate 15 freeway in Apple Valley, a mile after the Stoddard Wells/Bell Mountain Road off-ramp.

A gray Chevrolet Aveo and a semi-tractor trailer were involved in a traffic accident. According to the report, the Chevy rear-ended and smashed into the semi-truck, resulting in unspecified injuries to two people inside the car.

Responding officers and rescue crews requested two medical helicopters to transport the two people to a hospital. Mercy Air #2 and Reach Air Medical #43 landed at the scene and transported both to Arrowhead Medical Center in Colton.

There were no injuries reported for the semi-truck driver.

CHP temporarily blocked the lanes for about an hour to conduct the investigation and accommodate the medical helicopters.

No further information is available as the CHP Victorville is still investigating this incident.
