[04-17-2022] San Diego County, CA - 68-Year-Old Motorist Killed in Fatal Crash Involving SUV in LakesideAccording to the California Highway Patrol, a motorcyclist died after colliding with an SUV near Lakeside Sunday afternoon, April 17.

According to CHP Officer Travis Garrow, the fatal collision occurred around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Sapota Drive.

A 2009 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling south on Winter Gardens Boulevard, and a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling east on Sapota Drive.

The motorcycle and the SUV collided in the intersection, with the motorcycle slamming into the Trailblazer’s driver’s side.

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was thrown from the Harley. Garrow claimed he was taken to a hospital and died shortly after arriving.

Authorities do not know the motorcyclist’s name, according to Garrow, as of Monday morning.
