The collision happened on the Interstate 15 freeway, just south of the Indian Truck Trail near Lake Elsinore, at approximately 9:00 a.m.

An SUV, a sedan, and a tractor-trailer collided in the northbound lanes for unclear reasons. The circumstances leading up to the accident have not been established.

Several people were injured in the crash. The number of people injured, their identities, and their conditions have not been disclosed.

The California Highway Patrol is further investigating the cause of the collision.
