One driver was flown to Sutter Roseville Medical Center by air ambulance after a three-car crash on Pleasant Valley Road on Wednesday, April 20, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol’s Placerville office, two of the drivers involved were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Tracey K., 55, of Pollock Pines, was one of two drivers charged with DUI after sustaining major injuries while driving a 2015 Fiat sedan. Michael C., 51, of Pollock Pines, who is listed in the report as Kinney’s boyfriend, is also suspected of DUI.

He was following Kinney in a 1997 Toyota 4Runner but was unharmed when their vehicles collided with a 2021 Freightliner truck driven by Juan P. of Santa Rosa, which was equipped with log loading machinery. Padron was unharmed.

All of the drivers were wearing seatbelts, according to CHP investigators.

According to the CHP report, Kinney was driving eastbound on Pleasant Valley Road, approaching the Newtown Road intersection at about 45-50 mph.

According to investigators’ findings, Carrigan was following closely behind when due to Kinney’s impairment, Carrigan was unable to safely negotiate the curve in the roadway and lost control of her vehicle.

Kinney’s Fiat entered westbound lanes and collided with the Freightliner. Carrigan was unable to avoid the impending collision.

According to officials at Sutter Roseville Medical Center, Kinney’s condition remained serious.

Carrigan was arrested and later released from the El Dorado County Jail in Placerville.

He is facing misdemeanor DUI charges, according to inmate data.
