[04-21-2023] Motorcycle vs. Vehicle Crash in Moss Landing Kills Male RiderSteven D., a 28-year-old male rider, was killed after a motorcycle and vehicle collision in Moss Landing in Monterey County early Friday morning, April 21, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol said the collision occurred around 6:58 a.m. near Highway 1.

The 22-year-old Porterville man was reportedly traveling east on Pieri Court in a 2021 Ram when he stopped at the stop sign to turn left onto north Highway 1. At the same time, a 28-year-old man from Moss Landing also traveled south on Highway 1 in a 2017 Suzuki and approached the Ram.

Reports state the Ram made a left turn in front of the motorcycle, and the rider crashed into the Ram. The motorcycle driver was ejected from his bike, and his vehicle stopped on the east shoulder.

When emergency services arrived, he was given medical attention and transported to Natividad Medical Center. He later succumbed to his injuries.

Both drivers reportedly used safety equipment, and no one was detained for the collision. The CHP states that alcohol and drugs aren’t factors in this crash.
