[04-22-2023] 50-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed Following Vehicle Collision Near Southworth RoadA 50-year-old motorcyclist was killed following a vehicle collision near Southworth Road, Calaveras County, late Saturday morning, April 22, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal collision occurred around 11:30 a.m. along Highway 12 near the intersection of Southworth Road.

A 50-year-old man was driving his Harley Davidson when he attempted to speed past a 38-year-old SUV driver named Shawn P.

The motorcyclist died as a result, while the SUV driver sustained severe injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.

The identity of the motorcycle rider remains undisclosed as authorities continue their investigation.
