[04-25-2023] Three Individuals Injured After Two-Vehicle Crash on SR-84 in SunolTwo individuals were seriously injured, and one sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle collision in Alameda County on Tuesday morning, April 25, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at about 11:50 a.m. on SR-84 east of 680.

As per the report, a Nissan Altima traveling westbound crossed over double yellow lines and collided with a Subaru Outback. The Subaru burst into flames, which were extinguished by local emergency crews. The driver of the Nissan was trapped inside for about 20-30 minutes.

According to Officer, the driver of the Subaru sustained only minor injuries, while their passenger suffered a broken ankle. The driver of the Nissan was taken for a CT scan due to internal injuries.

The collision between two cars resulted in a SigAlert and a roughly two-hour road closure. All lanes were reopened at 2:09 p.m. after the alert was canceled.
