[04-25-2023] Two People Killed, Another Two Suffered Injuries After Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 20Two people were killed, and two others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 20 in rural Sutter County early Tuesday afternoon, April 25, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 1:00 p.m. on Highway 20, east of Wyncoop Road.

The CHP stated that an 88-year-old man driving a Jeep Wrangler crossed over the double yellow lines, sideswiped a Mercedes, collided head-on with a Lincoln, and overturned. The Jeep’s driver was declared dead at the scene.

The Mercedes veered off the road and collided with a fence, causing minor injuries. Two people were trapped inside the Lincoln and had to be extricated.

The 63-year-old woman driver of the Lincoln from Yuba City died in the hospital from her injuries, while the passenger suffered severe injuries.

The road was closed for approximately two hours while the CHP investigated. Drugs or alcohol are not thought to have played a role in the crash.
