An unidentified California Highway Patrol officer was hurt after a traffic collision near Downey early Thursday morning, April 28, 2022.
The accident happened at approximately 1:24 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway at the offramp to Lakewood Boulevard.
A civilian vehicle and a patrol vehicle collided on the roadway for unclear reasons. Due to the severity of the impact, the patrol vehicle caught fire.
One officer sustained unspecified injuries and was transported to St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood.
