What To Do After A Pedestrian Accident

It can be challenging to think clearly after an automobile accident. On the other hand, what you do and say at the collision scene can significantly impact the outcome of your claim against the negligent party. The following tips may help you avoid a decrease in your personal injury claim value:

  • Call the police after the crash, and ensure the officer fills out an accident report.
  • Photograph your injuries, the accident scene, property damage, weather, road conditions, and the car that struck you.
  • Photograph the at-fault driver’s license, insurance card, and license plate.
  • Obtain the names and contact information of eyewitnesses and anyone else who witnessed something.
  • As soon as possible, see a doctor or other healthcare expert and inform them of all affected areas of your body.
  • Keep a record of your injuries and rehabilitation. Describe your feelings, the therapy you receive, and your expenses.
  • Consult an experienced lawyer before engaging with an insurance adjuster or accepting a settlement offer.
  • Avoid social media. Please do not discuss your accident or its circumstances.
  • Contact an experienced pedestrian accident lawyer as soon as possible to discuss your case.
