According to the police, a woman was struck and killed by a vehicle southwest of Bakersfield Friday night, April 29, 2022.
According to the authorities, the emergency crews responded to a fatal collision that occurred at 11:00 p.m. on Taft Highway and Michele Street.
The Bakersfield Police said that the woman was found unresponsive in the roadway and later pronounced dead.
The driver who struck the woman remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Alcohol or drugs did not appear to be factors in the crash.
The police said the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk when she was struck.
