The authorities say a female pedestrian died in a collision involving two vehicles on Saturday, April 30, 2022.
According to a press release, San Jose police said officers responded to a report of a collision at 6:36 p.m. on North Capitol Avenue near Interstate 680.
When an adult male driving an SUV exited I-680 and entered North Capitol Avenue, he collided with a pedestrian.
A second car driving behind the SUV struck the pedestrian following the initial collision. According to police, the pedestrian was not walking in a marked crosswalk.
According to police, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Both drivers remained on the scene and cooperated with officers.
There was no evidence that either driver was impaired by alcohol or drugs.
The deceased person’s identity has yet to be disclosed, pending notification of next-of-kin by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office.
