[04-30-2023] Two People Killed, Another Two Injured Following Suspected DUI Single-Car Crash in OxnardTwo people were killed and two others injured following a suspected DUI single-car crash in Oxnard on Sunday night, April 30, 2023.

The Oxnard Police Department reports that the single-vehicle crash occurred shortly after 7:00 p.m. near the intersection of Arcturus Avenue and McWane Boulevard.

Authorities stated that the driver of the 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt was traveling west on McWane Boulevard when he suddenly lost control of his car and crashed into an electrical pole.

Firefighters used the jaws of life to extract all four males from the vehicle at the scene. Paramedics performed life-saving measures on two men, including the Cobalt’s driver. Both were later pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

The other two men were taken to Ventura County Medical Center and listed in stable condition.

Investigators believe speeding/reckless driving and alcohol were factors in the collision.

The authorities have not yet released any further information.
