[05-01-2022] Alameda County, CA – OPD Officer Injured in Hit-And-Run Crash At Shooting Scene In Oakland

An Oakland Police Officer was injured after getting struck in a hit-and-run accident in Oakland Sunday, May 1, 2022.

According to the Oakland Police Department, the crash happened at 8:30 p.m in the 1400 block of Peralta Avenue.

An unidentified person reportedly fired a gun and fled from the scene.

The Oakland Police have arrested a person involved in a shooting that preceded an officer’s injuries from a collision in Oakland.

The officers saw the shooting and saw the suspect run into a nearby home afterward, according to police.

Another person sped away from the scene in a vehicle that allegedly hit an officer’s marked vehicle. The crash injured the officer, but not seriously, police said.

The Oakland police did not provide any other information about the shooting or the crash.

OPD is still investigating the accident.
