[05-02-2023] San Diego County, CA – Car Struck Woman in College Area Causing Severe Injuries

A vehicle struck a 20-year-old female pedestrian in the College Area, San Diego, causing severe injuries that required hospitalization on Tuesday evening, May 2, 2023.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the woman was hit by a 2014 Toyota Prius driven by a 26-year-old man near the 5100 block of College Avenue at 11:11 p.m.

Before being struck, the victim was in the crosswalk at College Avenue and Lindo Paseo.

She suffered from a lacerated liver, skull fracture, facial fractures, and intracerebral hemorrhage. Officials say she was in severe but stable condition.

The SDPD traffic division is looking into the incident.
