According to local authorities, a 68-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run collision in San Pablo early Saturday morning, May 7, 2022.

Officers arrived to find an older man lying in the intersection with serious injuries.

The authorities attempted to save the man’s life, but he was declared dead at the scene.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of his family, according to police.

Jesse D., 30, of Richmond, was charged with felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter and booked into the Contra Costa County Jail.

Dubois allegedly fled the scene before officers arrived, according to police.

The detectives were able to identify a 2011 burgundy Nissan Sentra that police believe was used in the hit-and-run and belonged to the suspect using public safety cameras.

Dubois was found at his home in Richmond’s 700 block of Market Avenue at 1:50 p.m., along with a car that matched the one involved in the crash.

The vehicle had damage consistent with being in a collision, according to police.

According to the police, alcohol and drug use were not ruled out as contributing factors in the crash.
