[05-07-2023] San Diego County, CA – One Person Killed, Three Severely Injured in Four-Vehicle DUI Crash on Southbound I-15

A 32-year-old man from Temecula died, and three individuals were severely injured in a four-vehicle DUI crash in San Diego on Sunday morning, May 7, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 2:15 a.m. on southbound Interstate 15.

The report said the driver of a Dodge Challenger came to a halt in the #1 lane, and a 47-year-old man driving an Infinity G37 crashed into the back of the Dodge. Subsequently, an Acura MDX crashed into the Infinity, and the Acura hit the side of a Honda CRV in the #2 lane.

The driver of the Dodge died at the scene, and the driver of the Infinity and his two passengers were hospitalized with major non-life-threatening injuries.

According to CHP, alcohol or drugs may have played a role in the crash. The investigation is still ongoing.
