Two people were seriously injured[05-09-2023] Two People Seriously Injured After Dog Bite Incident on Vermont Avenue after being bitten by a dog in Los Angeles on Tuesday morning, May 9, 2023.

According to Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred at about 10:25 a.m. at 70th Street and Vermont Avenue.

The report said authorities found a woman with a dog bite to her leg and a man struggling to restrain a large pit bull. The officers observed that the man was trying to keep the dog’s mouth open while another man held a broom handle in his mouth to prevent it from closing its jaw.

Both victims were taken to the hospital, and the woman sustained a serious injury.

The pit bull was fatally shot, and Los Angeles Animal Services took its remains. The dog’s owner has not been identified, and LAPD’s Force Investigation Division is investigating the incident.
