[05-09-2023] One Person Killed, Two Others Hospitalized Following Two-Vehicle Collision Involving Train in VictorvilleOne person was killed, and two others were hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision involving a train in Victorville on Tuesday evening, May 9, 2023.

According to the Victorville Police Department, authorities responded to the crash at approximately 8:30 p.m. in the 16000 block of North D Street. The collision involved a white Ford SUV, a gray Chevrolet SUV, and a BNSF train.

The driver of the Ford SUV, identified as Arturo P., was traveling south on D Street when he crossed into the opposing lanes of traffic and collided with the Chevrolet. The collision caused the Ford to leave the road and overturn on an embankment.

Authorities stated that the Ford reportedly came to rest on train tracks in the path of an approaching train. Before colliding with the Ford, the northbound train could not stop. Arturo P. was declared dead at the scene.

Two of the occupants of the gray Chevrolet were transported to a local hospital for pain complaints. Officials said six juveniles and two adults were in the Chevrolet during the crash.
