[05-10-2022] Los Angeles County, CA – Pedestrian Killed in a Deadly Big Rig Crash in Castaic

An unidentified 30-year-old pedestrian after getting struck by a big rig in Castaic on early Tuesday morning, May 10, 2022.

The accident happened on the northbound 5 Freeway, near Lake Hughes Road in Castaic, at around 2:15 a.m.

A female pedestrian ran across the traffic lanes and was struck by a northbound white International Navistar on I-5 Golden State Freeway.

Due to the severity of the impact, the victim was launched several feet up in the air before landing on the roadway. Unfortunately, the 30-year-old female pedestrian could not survive her injuries and was pronounced dead.

Local authorities are further investigating the case.
