[05-13-2022] San Luis Obispo County, CA – 19-Year-Old Cyclist Killed in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash in Nipomo

According to a news release from the California Highway Patrol, a 19-year-old man riding an electric bike was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Nipomo on Thursday, May 12, 2022.

41-year-old Dylan L. was driving a Jeep Cherokee southbound on Los Berros Road with a man riding his Addmotor bicycle southbound on the right side of the lane.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Lammers failed to see the bicyclist and collided with the back tire of the bike, sending the bicyclist southbound until he came to a stop near the right shoulder.

Lammers fled the scene and later reported the collision to the California Highway Patrol.

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office discovered the bicyclist dead on his right shoulder.

Lammers was arrested at his home later that night by the California Highway Patrol.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Lammers was no longer in custody as of Friday noon.

The 19-year-old has not been identified because his family has not been notified.
