According to the California Highway Patrol, one person is dead after a fatal multi-vehicle crash in Tehama County on Friday afternoon, May 13, 2022.
The fatal collision occurred in the afternoon on Highway 99, south of Vina.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a white Toyota Corolla fled the scene in Shasta County. The CHP is investigating the Corolla, but it was not involved in the accident.
A Chevy sedan and a Cadillac sedan were involved in the cash and are still on the scene.
Both directions of Highway 99 are closed. The highway’s reopening date is unknown.
Caltrans reports that the road is closed from Rowles Road to Haille Road.
The identity of the deceased person is unknown.
The crash is still under investigation.
