[05-14-2023] Man Severely Injured After Getting Struck by Amtrak Train in Santa AnaA male pedestrian was severely injured after he was struck by an Amtrak train in Santa Ana on Sunday afternoon, May 14, 2023.

According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the commuter train struck the man on the railroad tracks around 1:00 p.m. at the 1000 block of East 4th Street.

When the authorities responded to the scene, they discovered a male adult with severe injuries next to the train.

The man was given on-site medical care before being transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

As police investigated the collision, traffic on 4th Street was halted in both directions for hours. Further details regarding the train accident were not immediately available.
