[05-14-2023] One Person Suffered Injuries Following Multi-Vehicle Hit-And-Run Collision in TurlockOne person was injured following a multi-vehicle hit-and-run collision in Turlock on Sunday evening, May 14, 2023.

The Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with injuries in the 1000 block of E. Linwood Avenue at around 10:07 p.m.

Five vehicles were involved: a black 2017 Ram 1500 and a blue 2011 Volkswagen Golf with major damage; a maroon 2004 Ford F-150 with minor damage; a red 2008 Chevrolet Silverado; and a small trailer with moderate damage.

The drivers occupied the black 1500 and blue Golf at the time of the crash, while the other vehicles were parked and vacant. The blue Golf driver was moderately injured and required ground transportation to a nearby hospital by the AMR. The black 1500 driver fled on foot.

Officers discovered that the driver of the black 1500 was heading westbound on W. Linwood Ave. from Fifth St. at a high rate of speed when, for unexplained reasons, he collided with the blue Golf, which was stopped on the side of the road and occupied by its driver.

The black 1500 flipped over and landed on its roof, while the blue Golf spun around and collided with the red Silverado. Due to the hit on the red Silverado, its trailer was pushed into the red F-150.

The driver of the black 1500 was last seen escaping on foot southbound in a black baseball hat, dark gray shirt, blue trousers, and cowboy boots. He was appropriately dressed as if just leaving a party. Officers searched the area for the driver, including using a police drone, but could not find him.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information that could help is asked to contact Officer Juan Arroyo at 209-669-2103.
