According to Orange County Sheriff’s Department Spokesperson Jaimee Blashaw, a motorcyclist died after a fatal two-vehicle crash in Antela Monday, May 16, 2022.
According to Blashaw, the fatal collision occurred at around 6:15 p.m. on Marguerite Parkway and Antela.
According to OCSD spokesperson Carrie Braun, the accident occurred when a white sedan was turning left onto Marguerite Parkway from Tres Vista.
She said the injured motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital but died of his injuries about an hour after the accident. Mark R., 60, of Mission, was later identified as the suspect.
According to Braun, no one else was hurt in the accident. The sedan’s driver, an 81-year-old local, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
According to Braun, drugs or alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
The OCSD is investigating the accident.
