[05-17-2023] 32-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Two Vehicles in Valley CenterA 32-year-old pedestrian was killed after being struck by two vehicles in Valley Center, San Diego County, on Tuesday evening, May 16, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officials responded to a car crash involving pedestrian traffic on Lilac Road, just west of Hideaway Lake Road, at about 8:37 p.m.

Authorities stated that a 19-year-old female driver from Escondido was driving a Nissan Kicks, trailed by a 63-year-old Valley Center man driving a Dodge Caravan in the westbound lane of Lilac Rd.

For unknown reasons, the 32-year-old male pedestrian from Valley Center was struck by the Dodge Caravan and the Nissan Kicks as he crossed Lilac Rd. in a southerly direction.

Despite the paramedics’ efforts to save his life, the 32-year-old male pedestrian was declared dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

The authorities have released no additional information, and it remains uncertain whether alcohol or drugs played a role in this collision.

The investigation is ongoing.
