Multi-Vehicle Crash Statistics

As the state’s economy grows, so too does the number of car accidents in California. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates that 3,304 people lost their lives in car accidents in 2010. In California, driving is extremely dangerous. When these accidents occurred, the drivers could have done more to avoid them. Human error is thought to be responsible for 94% of all accidents.

Traffic accidents can be excruciatingly painful or profoundly life-altering, depending on the severity of the victim’s injuries. Because of the high number of collisions, it’s easy for drivers to lose sight of how hazardous their vehicles really are.

If there are three or more vehicles involved in a crash, it is a multi-car accident. A pile-up occurs when six or more vehicles collide head-on.

According to a recent study by the NHTSA, more than 13,000 people were killed in multiple-vehicle crashes in 2010.

Los Angeles County Car Accident Lawyers

Because there are only two parties involved in a two-car accident, it is much easier to prosecute the case. Things can get more complicated when there are multiple vehicles involved in an accident.

In multi-vehicle accidents, determining who is at fault becomes more difficult. More than one vehicle colliding could have resulted in many injuries.

Because of the difficulty of determining fault in a multi-vehicle collision, you may not want to put your trust in an insurance company. For insurance companies, profit is more important than customer satisfaction, so there is no guarantee that you will receive your claim settlement.
