[05-17-2023] 50-Year-Old Bicyclist Killed After Hit-And-Run Collision in East OaklandA 50-year-old bicyclist was killed after a hit-and-run collision in East Oakland on Wednesday evening, May 17, 2023.

According to the Oakland Police Department, the man was discovered unresponsive on the sidewalk at the 98th Avenue and D Street intersection at around 9:19 p.m.

Authorities took the victim to the hospital, but he later passed away. The victim’s identification has not yet been made public.

Police determined a white vehicle of unknown make or model hit the victim in the intersection. Officials added that the car was seen southbound on 98th Avenue.

Authorities have not yet revealed any additional information regarding the crash. The investigation is underway.
