[05-17-2023] Plumas County, CA – 43-Year-Old Assistant Manager Injured After Car Crashes Through Store Window in Quincy

A 43-year-old man named Jaime M. was injured and hospitalized after being hit by a car that crashed into the Les Schwab store in Quincy on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol said the incident occurred at Les Schwab in Quincy.

According to the report, the driver, Thomas H., a 79-year-old resident of Quincy, mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake while trying to park on the north side of the building.

As a result, the vehicle forcefully crashed through the north wall, significantly damaging the store.

Miranda, the assistant manager, who was present in the front racks area, narrowly avoided being crushed when the vehicle collided with the tire shelves and pushed him toward the front counter.

Fortunately, Holten came out of the incident unscathed, while Miranda had to be taken to Plumas District Hospital for treatment.
