[05-18-2022] San Diego County, CA – 57-Year-Old Woman Injured in Bicycle Crash in Torrey Highlands

According to the police, a 57-year-old bicyclist was seriously injured after getting struck by a driver turning off a San Diego highway on Wednesday, May 18, 2022.

According to Buttle, the woman, 57, was traveling eastbound and crossing 13000 Camino Del Sur in the Torrey Highlands neighborhood via the south crosswalk.

She was struck by an 80-year-old Volvo XC90 SUV driver as he exited State Route 56 and turned right onto Camino Del Sur.

The bicyclist sustained a pelvis fracture and an L5 back fracture.

The police do not believe the injuries are life-threatening.

There were no other injuries reported.

There are no other details available.

The crash remains under investigation.
