[05-18-2023] 31-Year-Old Man Killed, Two Others Injured Following Multi-Vehicle Collision in PachecoA 31-year-old man was killed, and two others were injured following a multi-vehicle collision in Pacheco, Contra Costa County, on early Thursday evening, May 18, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision involved three vehicles and occurred shortly after 5:50 p.m. in the eastbound Highway 4 lanes, just west of the on-ramp from northbound Interstate 680.

The authorities reported that a gray Toyota Highlander collided with a Toyota Camry that was stopped for traffic. The collision propelled the Camry into the concrete barrier and caused it to crash with a gray Mazda 3 that was also stopped for traffic.

After being rushed to a hospital in an ambulance, the 31-year-old man in the Camry, identified as Taylor B., was declared dead. The Highlander’s driver and passenger sustained minor injuries. The only occupant of the gray Mazda was the unharmed driver.

The CHP issued a Sig-Alert at 6:08 p.m., advising drivers and individuals to avoid the area due to the crash. At 7:31 p.m., the alert was lifted.
