[05-18-2023] 50-Year-Old Female Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Rancho CordovaA 50-year-old female pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Rancho Cordova late Thursday night, May 18, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Highway 50 westbound, east of Mather Field Road, at around 11:00 a.m.

Authorities stated that the victim from Davis was walking on the right shoulder of Highway 50 when a 64-year-old man driving a Toyota in the second lane of the highway hit her.

The authorities have released no additional information, and it remains uncertain whether alcohol or drugs played a role in this collision.

The investigation is ongoing.
