[05-19-2022] Los Angeles County, CA - One Dead After a Fire Broke Out at a Recording Studio in HollywoodAccording to LAFD, a man was killed after a fire broke out in a well-known recording studio in Hollywood Thursday evening, May 19, 2022

Firefighters with the Los Angeles Fire Department were called just after 5:40 p.m. to the two-story building located at 6600 Lexington Ave.

The man was found dead after firefighters extinguished the blaze, according to the authorities.

Authorities said two people were evaluated for smoke inhalation but chose not to seek medical help.

According to LAFD Capt. Erik Scott, the studio equipment made the fire difficult to put out.

Capt. Erik Scott added that this was a difficult fire to put out because there were so many different recording studios on the premises. You had double drywall, insulation, and soundproofing that effectively kept the heat in. It was a scorching hot fire. Visibility is non-existent. It was so hot that it burned through the first-floor floor.

Maxxamillion, a recording hip-hop artist and rapper, said he lost his entire recording studio as well as $50,000 in equipment.

The cause of the fire is unknown. The cause is still being investigated.

Fatal Burn Injury Statistics

Every year in the United States, 1.1 million burn injuries necessitate medical attention (American Burn Association, 2002). Approximately 4,500 of them die. Burn-related infections kill up to 10,000 people in the United States each year.

Burns are an unfortunate part of life. Burn injuries claim the lives of one person every three hours in the United States, accounting for about 1.5 deaths per 100,000 people, or about 2.1 percent of all fatal injuries.

Burn injuries are not only excruciatingly painful, but they also take a long time to heal and can leave both emotional and physical scarring.

Burn victims frequently experience long-term emotional consequences, such as post-traumatic stress disorder or nightmares about the incident. They may be hesitant to resume normal activities for fear of sustaining another burn injury.
