[05-21-2022] Orange County, CA - 33-Year-Old Woman Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash in TustinA woman identified as 33-year-old Sarah D. was killed while walking on the Costa Mesa (55) Freeway in Tustin early Saturday, May 21, 2022.

Officer M. Schneiderman of the California Highway Patrol said the crash occurred around 1:10 a.m. on northbound 55 at 17th Street.

According to the Orange County Coroner’s Office, the victim was 33 years old, and her hometown was unknown.

Schneiderman said De La Riva was crossing lanes when she was struck by a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup driven by a 51-year-old Orange woman.

It is still unclear why De La Riva’s presence was on the road.

The driver stayed at the scene and assisted authorities.
