A 22-year-old motorcyclist from Rancho Mirage was killed after a two-vehicle collision near Palm Springs early Sunday morning, May 21, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal collision happened around 5:00 a.m. on North Indian Canyon Drive near 14th Avenue.

A Toyota Corolla driver struck the motorcycle rider from behind, throwing him off his vehicle.

The victim was declared dead at the scene, while no other injuries were reported.

The authorities temporarily closed the area off while they conducted their investigations.
