[05-21-2023] Male Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle in CoronaA 21-year-old male pedestrian, Cory H., was struck and killed by a vehicle in Corona early Sunday morning, May 21, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian accident occurred shortly before 3:00 a.m. on eastbound 91, half a mile west of Serfas Club Drive.

The man was walking in the fast lane when the female driver of the Toyota Corolla, traveling at an unknown speed, failed to avoid the pedestrian and struck him in the number one lane.

Paramedics from the Corona Fire Department arrived within 15 minutes and pronounced Hunter dead at the scene.

The unidentified driver immediately stopped. The driver was taken to a hospital for evaluation but was not physically injured. Also, the passenger did not require medical attention.

Officers closed four out of the five eastbound freeway lanes to conduct a preliminary investigation. All lanes were reopened two hours later.
