According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, an AMTRAK train was involved in a fatal collision with a pedestrian on Leucadia Boulevard Sunday, May 22, 2022.
According to Sheriff’s Sgt. Jason King, the deadly collision occurred at 10:52 a.m. near the Leucadia Boulevard grade crossing in Encinitas.
It was determined that the pedestrian had also passed away at the scene.
The identities of the victims, along with their ages and genders, have not been made public.
The deputies were looking into the collision.
