[05-24-2025] San Diego County, CA – One Person Killed in Fiery Two-Vehicle Crash on SR-15 North of Jacob Dekema Freeway

One person was killed following a fiery two-vehicle crash on State Route 15 in San Diego early Saturday morning, May 24, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 2:35 a.m. on the northbound side of the highway, just north of the Jacob Dekema (805) Freeway.

Authorities reported that one of the vehicles struck the center divider, resulting in parts of the vehicle being scattered across the No. 1 and No. 2 lanes. One of the vehicles reportedly caught fire after the impact.

No further information regarding the second vehicle or the identity of the deceased has been released at this time.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by CHP.
