A 27-year-old man was critically injured after being struck by a pickup truck in San Ysidro on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.
According to preliminary information, the crash occurred around 3:45 a.m. in the 300 block of Mesa Avenue.
The area is located just east of Interstate 805 and north of the United States-Mexico border.
The pedestrian was walking northbound in the 300 block of Mesa Avenue when he was struck by a Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by a 69-year-old man.
First responders rushed the pedestrian to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries when they arrived.
His identity has not yet been disclosed.
There were no other injuries reported.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to authorities.
There are no other details available.
The crash remains under investigation.
