A 35-year-old woman was killed after being hit by a vehicle in a pedestrian crash in Fountain Valley on Sunday night, May 25, 2025.
According to the Fountain Valley Police Department, the fatal incident happened at approximately 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Warner Avenue and Los Jardines Street.
Authorities said the pedestrian, identified as Alexandra P. of Santa Ana, was running southbound from Mile Square Park when she was struck by a gray Toyota Corolla traveling westbound on Warner Avenue.
Emergency crews responded and transported the pedestrian to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries. The 17-year-old male driver from Westminster remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
While officers were conducting their investigation at the scene later that night, another driver crashed into an unoccupied police vehicle. That driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI. No injuries to officers were reported.
Authorities continue to investigate the fatal collision.
