[05-26-2022] San Diego County, CA - 69-Year-Old Man Injured in Pedestrian Crash in Midway District IntersectionAccording to the police, a 69-year-old pedestrian was taken to the hospital after being hit by a truck in a Midway District intersection early Thursday, May 26, 2022.

The crash occurred early Thursday at Camino Del Rio West and Hancock Street intersection.

According to San Diego police Officer Robert Heims, a 69-year-old man driving a Ford F150 southbound on Camino Del Rio West struck the pedestrian while entering the intersection with Hancock Street on a green light.

The pedestrian was walking westbound in the middle of the intersection at the time, according to police.

According to Heims, the pedestrian suffered a fractured pelvis as a result of the accident, and he was taken to a local hospital.

The injury isn’t thought to be life-threatening.

There were no other injuries reported.

According to Heims, alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

The agency refused to provide any additional information.

The crash remains under investigation.
